Tim Dibble

Tim has been at Alta or its predecessor firms since 1989 having joined the firm from the Bank of Boston. His undergraduate liberal arts training at Wesleyan University prepared him well for the long-winded answers required of typical private equity professionals. In his over twenty years in the business, Tim has found numerous ways to lose money but only one way to make money and that is to back strong management teams at reasonable prices. Tim currently serves on the board of AEP portfolio company CombineNet and manages Alta Communications' investments in Cellular One (MTPCS), Highwinds Capital, Mr. Youth, Crowdtap, W3i, and Yankee Group.

Outside of work, Tim spends time with his wife and coaching his five children which ensures that he does enjoy coming into the office to relax. Tim has been actively involved in Year Up ( as its founding Board Chair and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay both as a Big Brother since 1986 and as a past Board Chair. Brian McNeill

Brian McNeill has worked with the Alta team since 1986. He specializes in identifying and managing investments in the traditional sectors of the media industry, including radio and television broadcasting, cable television, outdoor advertising and other advertising-based businesses. Having just discovered the Internet, please be patient with Brian's hunt and peck response to emails. Before joining Alta, Brian started and managed the Broadcasting Lending Division of the Bank of Boston. Brian currently oversees AEP's investment in SJL Broadcasting and manages Alta Communications' investments in 100% NL, Galaxy Communications, JW Broadcasting and Pop Radio . He is also on the Board of Directors of Radio One, Inc.

Jessica Reed

Jessica Reed has been with the Alta team since 2006. During this time, she has been involved with a diverse group of companies and enjoys working closely with management teams. Jessica currently serves on the board of AEP portfolio company CombineNet and continues to work on the Alta Communications' investments in Cellular One (MTPCS), HMP Communications, JW Broadcasting, Screen Media and Galaxy Communications. Prior to Alta, Jessica worked for three years in investment banking at Harris Williams & Co. completing sell-side advisory engagements for a number of small, privately-held middle market companies in the industrial, consumer products, telecommunications and business services sectors.

Jessica graduated summa cum laude from Babson College where she played softball. She spent one of her Babson summers at the London School of Economics exploring Europe and interning with State Street Global Advisors. She enjoys remaining involved in the Babson alumni community. Jessica is also an active member of the Boston steering committee for the Women's Association of Venture & Equity (WAVE), a national networking organization for women in venture capital and private equity.

After growing up in the coastal town of Wells, ME, Jessica now lives with her husband in Ipswich, MA and enjoys trips down the Ipswich River and days at Crane Beach in the summer. She is an avid Boston sports fan and can frequently be found at Fenway or Gillette Stadium. She often tries to coordinate business meetings with sporting events to see her favorite teams play in venues across the country.

Phil Thompson

Phil has been part of the Alta team since 1996 when he joined Alta Communications. During this time he has led numerous investments within the communications, media, information and business services industries. Phil currently serves on the board of AEP portfolio company Subcontracting Concepts Inc. (SCI), and he continues to manage Alta Communications' investments in 1105 Media, Construction Data Corporation, Healthy Advice Networks (formerly On Target Media), HMP Communications and Structural Graphics. Since joining Alta, Phil has developed particular expertise with companies headquartered in unpopulated areas and those reached only by all day drives in rental cars or puddle-jumpers.

Prior to joining Alta, Phil worked in the Investment Banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he participated in equity and high yield debt financings as well as merger and acquisition transactions for the communications and technology industries. Phil grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Bowdoin College with degrees in Economics and German. He currently lives in Brookline, MA with his wife and two young children. Outside of work Phil enjoys skiing, whitewater kayaking and the great state of Vermont. He continues to naively believe that his next investment will be found in close proximity to a Western ski town.

Chris Dias

Chris joined the Alta team in 2009. During this time, Chris has been actively involved in AEP's investments in Bayou City Broadcasting, Human Movement Management, Subcontracting Concepts Inc. (SCI) and SJL Broadcasting. Chris also continues to work with Alta Communications' portfolio companies including 100% NL, Highwinds Capital, Construction Data Corporation, POP Radio, Una Vez Mas, Yankee Group, and BrandMuscle.

Prior to joining Alta, Chris was an Associate in the Leveraged Finance group at NewStar Financial where he focused on executing debt financing solutions to support middle market leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations for private equity firms across a range of industries. Chris graduated with an M.A. and B.A. in Economics from Boston University. Despite being a lifelong Massachusetts resident, Chris has managed to develop an aversion to both the Red Sox and the Patriots. Other than "quietly" rooting for the Yankees, Chris enjoys anything outdoors and traveling to new places in his spare time.

Eileen McCarthy Toti

Eileen McCarthy Toti has worked with the Alta team since 1989. In this capacity, she is the closest thing to Darth Vader at Alta. She is the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for accounting, finance and administration of the funds. Over the years she has also worked closely with management teams assisting in the structure and liquidation of investments. Eileen began her career at Coopers & Lybrand, where she was a Senior Manager providing audit services to emerging businesses in the high technology and financial services industries.

Eileen graduated cum laude with a degree in Psychology from Boston College and received an MBA with High Distinction from Babson College. She was a founding board member of the Private Equity CFO Association and has been active in many similar organizations over the past twenty years. Eileen is also a member of the Council for Women of Boston College, the Treasurer of the Retik Mello Foundation and serves on the Board of two private schools in the Boston area. Eileen lives with her husband Steve in Melrose, MA, and enjoys traveling and golfing in her spare time.
